Organisers of San Sebastian’s awesome annual surf film festival, Surfilmfestibal, recently invited surfer and renowned beach artist Jim Denevan to Spain to do his thing. And what better location than the Basque Country’s tidal Urdaibai estuary, also home to Mundaka’s world-class river-mouth tube-producing machine! Here the Santa Cruz local carved and raked his large-scale ephemeral sand patterns into the pristine setting and natural reserve before once again letting the in-coming tide wipe the whole piece out.
