Surf Europe continues to bravely stave off the financial crisis with generous quantitive easing of the Caribbean economy. Having filled their boots on wickedly good right point (you know the one), the chaps (Ouvre, Ildefonse & shooter Laurel) are now resting by Dimitri’s gates in St Barths, getting some family vibes going and mustering up some energy so that Blacknuts can go mad this weekend out on the town. Here’s the spot where Dimitri learned to surf, still fun, still faithful, still familiar. Everybody loves home, don’t they?

Here at Surf Europe we love nudity. We like skin. We like the soft refreshing gust of a warm, polite offshore breeze on a dangling ballbag. The only thing we like more than a naked man is a naked French man standing in front of one of the best righthand sand points we know about. So you can imagine our glee when Laurel’s recent dispatch from the Caribbean came in hot.

Snow is falling right now outside the window of the SE love shack in SW France. Meanwhile, the Caribbean is hot, sunny and wavey. French surfers Naum ‘Blacknuts’ Ildefonse and Dimitri Ouvre are over there right now with SE shooter Alex Laurel, and it turns out they made a good call. “That was one of the best days of my life,” gushed Naum about yesterday’s exploits, a day spent trading endless freight train right pits with Dimitri at this sand point in the middle of nowhere, with not another soul on the beach besides the lads. “I’m still tripping out on how f*cking good that day was… unreal.” With the wind coming up the lads hopped on a private jet back to Dimitri’s place in St Bart’s to regroup, where we caught up with Naum via skype, in bed spooning Laurel. Hey, what goes on tour… etc

If you peep out to the drink from anywhere on the North Shore anytime time of day, it’ll be a matter of minutes, if not seconds before you see one of these majestic creatures breaching spectacularly before landing with a nuclear bitch slap. Feels good to shuffle the pack after an hour or so on a hot flight, no? Well imagine how incredibly good it feels to blast a colony of parasitic marine life off your hide after a 3000 mile swim from Alaska…

Sharks aren’t mammals, they’re fish. Charly was really interested in escaped snakes, but got confused and ended up in a cage looking at sharks  just offshore of Hale’iwa. Lil Wayne doesn’t do this.

Speaking of creatures, there were all sorts at Carnival last night in Honolulu. The Bus wasn’t running so like a pack of kooks we hired a Hummer Limo thingy to take us to Town from Country, yah? It drank twelve gallons of gas per minute just keeping the bass bins on the stezza cool.

Nicolau von Rupp was the most tipsy, Michel Bourez the least. Charly Martin and Naum Ildefonse were so focused on dancing that they somehow managed to miss the ‘kini show… kooks! Outside on the streets there were boys who do girls like they’re boys who do girls like they’re boys, but inside, it was mostly early 90′s Golden Age New York beats and breaks and slender youthful wahines in swimwear in heals.

This was Cleopatra, and I just couldn’t stop staring at her fringe… It’s so very straight! I begged her to stop.
